About Us

 

Branches

The Society’s diverse activities are implemented through its branches in Balqa, Irbid, Ajloon, Madaba, Tafileh, Ma’an, Karak, Mafraq and Aqaba together with the Youth and Student branches. Each of the branches run individual activities that are tailored to meet the particular needs of their local community. They undertake the management of social and health care centres such as clinics, a medical laboratory, x-ray centre, mother and child health care centres, first aid and water rescue posts, orphanages, house for the elderly and vocational training centres.

Madaba Branch
Established in 1952

  • House for elderly women under construction. The foundation stone was laid on 2nd May 2002.

  • Kindergarten (opened 1st Sep 2002)

  • Sewing training centre

Balqa Branch
Established in 1956

  • Prince Abdullah Orphanage

Aqaba Branch
Established in 1962

  • Kindergarten

  • Computer training centre

  • Literacy classes

  • Sewing courses for local women

  • Community Development Centre

  • Mother and Child Health Care Clinic

  • First aid and water rescue posts

Irbid Branch
Established in 1962

  • Computer training centre

  • The branch carries out courses for students in English, Arabic, mathematics and physics

Karak Branch
Established in 1962, the branch is active in disseminating IHL and the Principles of the Movement, running awareness activities on HIV/AIDS and other health and social welfare activities.

Student Branch
Established in 1965, it runs a large network of committees at the Ministry of Education directorates and in every school in Jordan. These committees are responsible for implementing different activities such as the dissemination of the Fundamental Principles and IHL, first aid, public health, in-kind donation campaigns for poor students in winter, voluntary activities for the benefit of local communities etc.
The student branch also organizes numerous seminars, camps, and presentations.

Youth Branch
Established in 1986, the branch is active in disaster response and first aid programmes.

Ma’an Branch
Established in 1987 and runs a Medical laboratory, X-ray centre and clinic


Tafileh Branch
Established in 1991, the branch is active in disseminating IHL and the Principles of the Movement, running awareness activities on HIV/AIDS, landmines and unexploded ordnance and other health and social welfare activities.

Mafraq Branch
Established in 1991, the branch is active in disseminating IHL and the Principles of the Movement, running awareness activities.

Ajloun Branch
Established in 1994, the branch runs a nursery and is active in disseminating IHL and the Principles of the Movement, running awareness activities on HIV/AIDS, landmines and unexploded ordnance and other health and social welfare activities.

All branches are also active in the following fields:

  • Dissemination of IHL and the Principles of the Movement

  • Awareness activities on Landmines and unexploded ordnance

  • Awareness activities on HIV/AIDS

  • Members of the National Intervention Team of the Disaster Management Unit

  •  variety of social welfare programmes, e.g quarterly financial assistance to an estimated number of 1,200 orphans around the country.

  • Organising fund raising events e.g charity dinners, trips, plays, etc

  • Organising first aid training in cooperation with the Civil Defence

  • Organising Disaster Management training courses

  • Carrying out awareness lectures on different issues ذ health, environment, road safety, etc

  • Organising and participating in social activities e.g local celebrations, Elderly Day, Mothers Day etc

  • Distribution of food and in-kind donations

  • Organising free medical days

  • Participation in training courses run by H.Q.
